A power outage was reported at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport on Monday, June 17. Boarding and check-in operations at the airport were hampered. Passengers have reported 'no light on T3 terminal since 15 minutes'. They have also shared pictures and videos on social media. The power outage reportedly lasted several minutes at India's busiest airport in Delhi. The power outage was due to a voltage imbalance from the power grid supplier, the Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) has said.

The outage affected baggage collection, Digi Yatra services and entry at the e-gates, Reuters reported quoting sources. "Around 2 PM today (Monday), Delhi Airport's Main Receiving Sub-station (MRSS) detected a significant voltage spike at the grid, reportedly due to the tripping of a 765KV line. This voltage imbalance from the Delhi Transco Limited (DTL) grid briefly impacted all IGI terminals, affecting baggage acceptance and e-gates," a DIAL spokesperson said in a statement. Delhi Airport is owned and run by GMR Airports and has three terminals for commercial and cargo flights.
